The Huntercombe Group
The Huntercombe Group is a highly specialist provider of mental health and acquired brain injury services, caring for NHS patients across the UK. Dedicated staff work together with patients, across multi-disciplinary teams, to maximise the recovery potential of every single person being cared for.
The Huntercombe Group provides clinical and therapeutic services in three specialist areas of care: mental health services for children and young people (CAMHS) as well as for adults, learning disability services and specialist brain injury rehabilitation services, typically for adults who have suffered a traumatic acquired brain injury.
Across its 6 CAMHS hospitals in England and Scotland, The Huntercombe Group helps young people recover from serious eating disorders, providing psychiatric intensive care services, general acute CAMHS and low secure therapeutic mental health services.
The Huntercombe Group is one of the very few national providers of Level 1 rehabilitation services for those who acquire a life-changing significant brain injury. In adult mental health, The Huntercombe Group provides a range of services from psychiatric intensive care for men and women, to bespoke services for the most challenged individuals who have learning disabilities or autism and benefit from high levels of support.
The Retreat is a charitable, not-for-profit, provider of specialist mental healthcare based in York. The Retreat specialises in eating disorders, personality disorders and older adult services and works closely with the NHS to provide services for patients with complex and challenging needs.
Established over two centuries ago, The Retreat is proud of its reputation as the first institution to treat people with mental health problems with humanity. It was founded as a Quaker organisation and continues to operate in line with the traditional Quaker values of dignity, peace, integrity and respect.
