The Independent Mental Health Service Alliance welcomes the amendment to the Health Bill, placing an explicit duty on the Secretary of State for Health to promote parity of esteem between mental and physical health services.

IMHSA Chair Alison Rose-Quirie said: ‘We hope that this change will really make a difference to early identification and intervention for those who struggle with mental health issues and reduce the stigma associated with such.”
